This tuning is the same as the Bass 4ths 8-string tuning except that the three highest strings are detuned a half step creating a major 3rd interval between the 3rd and 4th strings. This is similar to the Guitar Intervals tuning except that, with this tuning, strings 2-7 share the same letter names and are one octave lower than a standard tuned 6-string guitar.
