This tuning is the same as the Bass 4ths 8-string tuning except that the two highest strings are detuned a half step thereby retaining the guitar’s major 3rd interval between the second and third strings. The highest six (1-6) strings are tuned just like a guitar that has been tuned down by a perfect 5th.
