Melodic Revolution Records and Wadulisi Recordings are proud to announce that artist Juan R. León, known for his work with RematriNation, Stanislav, and The Lion, will return to the live stage as StickCentric reunites for its first performance in more than 13 years.
After an extended hiatus, the experimental improvisational ensemble StickCentric is making a long-awaited return. Founding members Jeremy Birdsall (12 String Grand Stick, keyboards, sitar) and Juan R. León (NS StickTM, bass, Native American flutes, synthesizers) are once again joined by Ralph Gray (acoustic and electronic drums, percussion) for what promises to be a truly unique musical event.
Remarkably, the last time StickCentric performed was with this very lineup at the 2012 DeLand Original Music Festival. More than a reunion, this performance marks the revival of a project dedicated to fearless musical exploration and spontaneous creativity.
Unlike most live acts, StickCentric performs without rehearsals or predetermined compositions. Every performance is completely improvised, with each musician responding in the moment to create music that exists only once. Drawing from an eclectic arsenal of instruments—including Chapman Stick, NS StickTM, Native American flutes, keyboards, synthesizers, sitar, and an array of acoustic and electronic percussion, the trio crafts immersive sonic landscapes that blur the boundaries between progressive rock, world music, ambient textures, jazz, and experimental soundscapes.
No set lists. No safety nets. Just three accomplished musicians creating an entirely original musical journey in real time.
