I’ve been teaching music for five decades, Stick for almost 40 years. Author of Mel Bay’s “Stickology, A Guide To Playing The Chapman Stick”.
Author, “Ultimate Stick” tutorial video with TrueFire.
Performed internationally at clubs, festivals and seminars. Produced the Long Beach (NY) Jazz Fest for 16 years.
Six recordings as a leader. Band is The Stick-Tet. Sideman on many projects. Performed and/or recorded with Les Paul, Tony Levin, Oz Noy, Rachel Z , Stanley Jordan, Larry Coryell, Bryan Carrott, Frank Vignola, Pat Martino, Dean Brown, Chieli Minucci, many others.
Journalist writing for Twentieth Century Guitar, Downbeat, Just Jazz, Guitar Player. Included in Scott Yanow’s book.
“The Great Jazz Guitarists” as the only Stick player.
Taught at Stick seminars, Interlochen, Michigan, Vancouver, Japan, Germany, NY, California, Montreal, Florida etc.
